I remembered hearing of this around the time it happened. I was shocked to learn that her vibrant life ended prematurely. Being in the same class as her and remembering her infectious smile and her athleticism, just a few of the many great things we will all miss about her. You are with GOD now and may your soul rest in peace.

I remember Kelly`s infectious smile and enthusiasm. I think the best thing about her was her ability to help others. She was one of those young people who matured much beyond her years. She will be missed by those who knew her.

I found this website today and am terribly saddened to read that you have passed. My Sister and I grew up on your street and I remember when you were just a little baby.... standing next to your Big Sister April and Brother Sean. Your parents were so nice and friendly. Such a sweet family. God has another angel in heaven. Prayers and good thoughts to your family always.

I was Mr. VanderWal's TA in fifth-period PE in 1991-1992. I was a senior; you were a freshman. You were always a nice girl. After graduation, I lost touch with almost everything related to La Quinta. Until visiting this site a few years ago, I hadn't heard you were attending UC Berkeley or about your death. When I saw your name on the memoriam page, I knew instantly it was the same girl in my TA class. At that time, I didn't feel I knew you well enough to write anything. The spirit moves me now. Maybe it's your spirit. Maybe it's remembering--once again--that sour moods will come and go but love need never leave. You are remembered.

Gosh Kelly.. I have lookd at your picture quite a few times not knowing what to say. I did hear about the accident a couple of days after it happened. I did not know why God wanted you home so soon. I remember you being VERY SMART, and also getting an adward for NEVER missing a day of school out of the 4 years in High School. The very first time I met you, I was in the 6th grade. I used to attend youth meetings at your house after school, and your Mom would teach us about the Lord, and give us snacks. You were an amazing girl. And I know that you have made your parents blessed & proud to have a daughter like you.. ..

Kelly you are a beautiful, smart and joyous young lady. You were a best friend to my daughter Maria Almazan and friends to my son's Daniel and Justin. Kelley, You are my Guardian Angel in the sky. I miss you everyday. Your friendship was so special to me and one that I could never replace. Everytime I think of you I get tears in my eyes, because I don't understand why you've been taken away. I have always been inspired by your dedication to the lord. Your family has kept us all strong.
