I rememeber Dave giving us younger guys a ride home after cross country practice in his green station wagon with the push button gear shift. The lasat thing you wanted to doing after running 5 or 6 miles was to walk home. He was a good friend teammate.

I worked with David at Fountain Valley Hospital from 1976 through 1979. He was my friend, my mentor, and my hero. David knew how to fix anything. I don't know how he kept his old Dodge station wagon nick-named áThe Green Weenieá running in tip top condition for so long. Charm was in his smile. Always grinning when he told those dumb jokes. I always laughed and smiled too. I remember David liked the group “Jefferson Airplane.” He believed in Miracles and I think that was that was his favorite tune from the group. We washed dishes together and had water fights in the dish room with our co-workers Stuart and Randy. Later, as we moved up in the ranks, we were frying hamburgers on the grill in the tray-line and serving the patients, doctors and nurses. I will always remember David and the great times we had together. God always takes care of His Own. David, goodbye for now, I will see you again! Rick Melanson

I would like to add to the comments section what Thomas his brother sent to me. It was too long to add it above. David was fighting Cancer for about 18 months. January 2000, he underwent surgery and had his right lung removed. He seemed fine afterwards and returned to work. In January of this year, he began to tire at work and was reexamined. His cancer had returned with a serious vengeance, it was all through his organs. David fought his cancer all the way to the end. Saturday, he woke up and said he felt really good and did some things around the house and next decided to take a break in the sun in his front yard. He quietly went to sleep and never woke up.

As I recollect on all the things I have done in my life and the memories that I keep, all the best of those times and memories are those that I did with my brother David. Good Bye brother, I will miss you so very much.
