  In Memoriam

I am sorry that he had to die of cancer. I remember how he used to stand on top of his desk and use the long pointer to point at the chalkboard.

G-D Bless Mr. Archer. I have been teaching for about 15 year snow, and I will never forget his common response to any questions. áRead the tet five timesá... and accent the five like most Texans would. I found myself teaching math about 3 years ago, and quickly recognized that what ever I knew mathematically ame from reading that text five times. I used the same method with my own students, and of course no calculators. We'll miss you Mr. Archer.

What a gem he was. I was too young and immature to appreciate what a treasure I had. Food was never allowed after lunch in his algebra class. So sneaking BBQ corn chips in and not crunching them , but rather dissolving them like a cough drop was the task at hand and helped me never get caught. As he walked by and smelt them, he blamed everyone around me but me. Now if he's reading this, he will know the truth! I've come clean Mr. Archer! And you did a great job as my algebra teacher! Thanks!
