  In Memoriam

I remember Ms. Law as a very strict teacher. She had a wierd way of seating her students. After every test she would reseat everyone based on how well they scored on their test, the smartest students seated closer to her desk. I always felt sorry for the people in the `dumb` row. She had 2 old cars. One was pale green and the other was a 2 tone black and white. I believe they were both Chevy`s. I did learn a lot in her class because I didn`t want to be in that last row of desks.

Miss Law was my only Spanish teacher at LQ. What a lady! Four years of college Spanish later, I speak the language in my classroom every day! She was good!

Ms. Law was considered to be a tough teacher, but I never thought so. I had two years of Spanish, and was here aide the next year. When I was her aide, she thought I was going through a rough time, and she actually called me out of class to talk to me. She told me that if I ever needed to talk, she was there. I truly liked her, and was very sad to see her name here. I will always remember her.

When I was in her Spanish Class she would say to the students in the class to stand up in Spanish. It's too bad that the Rossetta Stone language training program wasn't available when I was in high school. I remember the old car she drove around in. She will be missed by many of her friends and so will the German language teacher Delma Doerr. I am glad to see that reading and writing of Vietnamese is being taught at La Quinta High School because some of the Vietnames American students are not fluent in both reading and writing Vietnamese.
