In Memoriam

Steve, I just found out that you passed away years ago. I had no idea and I`m so very sad to hear of this. It`s been many years since I`ve seen you, and I know our working relationship and friendship ended on bad terms. However, I hope you found it in your heart to forgive me through the years. You were a good man and a good boss, I was very young and had many inner battles and I regret the way things ended at KPFM. I will always be grateful to you and your family for allowing me to be part of the opening days for your business in Oceanside. I will always remember those times, I was able to buy my first car because of my job with you. May you R.I.P., I hope to see you again sometime!

I will always remember Steve. He was a profoundly kind person, with a huge smile and the ability to make me laugh at almost anything. A joyous caring soul. He has left the world just a little better from his path upon it.

I first met Steve in 1979 while I was working for his brother Gary at Lampost. I think I ate one oof the first bbq beef pizzas Steve ever made. I Remember him always wearing his checkered chefs pants and a big smile...and that he loved his family . I Pray Gods peace, comfort and strength over his family, mother and brothers. Blessings.

God bless Steves family and may He embrace you in this sad time and I will always remember the happy and good times when they were with us.I knew Randy in school and later on I got to know Steve a little bit, like when he used to play in their band at parties with the Green Acres theme, that was so funny, and the last time I saw him was when we went to a Dodger game in 1977 when they gave us tickets,Steve was a charismatic person and had much humbleness in his heart and I know he was real kind, and I know in my heart that he must have loved his family and people very much, I will miss him very much,he is one more icon and great man from my past. God bless his family, he will always be with us in spirit the way he was and the way he lived, Amen.

Words are sometimes hard to find at times like these, when it is someone you have known for such a long time. There are some of us who have known each other since the third grade, and even though time has separated us, the memories and good times still linger. John Marshall School, Leo Ciro school, Singing at the ground breaking of McGarvin Jr. High School in sixth grade. When I heard of the passing of Steve I flashed back to all of those times. Debbie was my first girl friend, and I send my love and all the white light I can to her. They were meant for each other. And their children that I am sad to say I never met. So from this stranger to them I say... Your father was a good man as you know he helped more people than we will ever know. My Mom passed away this year and there are no words to express how you feel and no words can really help. Keep him in your hearts and know he loved you very much and will always be remember as a hero in our eyes. Love and strength to yo

I am so shocked and saddened at the news of Steve`s death. I hadn`t seen Steve since not long after 9-11. He`d gone to NYC to offer his help and cooked for the recovery workers at Ground Zero and he talked about it at one of our KPFM alumni get-togethers. It was obvious that he`d been profoundly affected by his experience. Such a tragic loss. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this sad time.
