In Memoriam

She always saw all of us as her “precious children”. I will always remember putting so much work into a world history report to present in class. No one cared. But she did. The look of appreciation in her eyes is something I’ve never forgotten.

I recall Mrs. Corpin`s accepting random things as extra credit. For myself, I recorded copies of Celtic Rock albums I had purchased, and I remember how very overjoyed she was to get them. She was a kind soul, and I wish I had an opportunity to speak with her again. Rest in Peace, Mrs. Corpin. You`ll be remembered.

Rita was a good teacher and one of those people we meet in life who appears not in sync with everyone else. Yes, she was quite different from most, however we all have our eccentricities at some level. She had a good heart and I believe she really did enjoy teaching students about history. Let`s hope the pain she was in is gone and she is in a happier existence now. May she truly rest in peace, something she often didn`t have in this life.

I was fortunate enough to have Miss Corpin for World History in 1966. She was a wonderful educator and passed along many insights to all her students on World History issues. Many of them I use today as an educator myself. I am saddened to learn of her passing.

I had Ms. Corpin for World History during my second semester of my sophomore year in 1969. I thought she was a good teacher and I learned a lot from her. It`s hard to believe that she taught the same subject for 40 years at the same school. RIP Ms. Corpin.

I never had Ms. Corpin as a teacher. My sister did though. She had her quirks but there is no denying how much compassion she had. She loved teaching and she loved history. Above all she loved all living things. I hope she knew how much her students and nonstudents cared for her. RIP Ms. Corpin, I hope you are somewhere happy with the man you love and all the animals you love.

My heart is heavy learning of Miss Corpin`s death. I was her student aide, I would help type, make copies and grade tests. She taught me more than when I was a student myself (sorry Mr. Thayer). She got so involved in what she taught, it was contagious. I still have a POW bracelet she encouraged me to get. I am proud to say I was able to return one bracelet to a returned POW. We touched base on and off years later and we chatted about Ireland. I believe she was managing an Irish band. She was still teaching last time we talked.... It`s been awhile. God Bless Rita Corpin👼

I had Miss Corpin for History in 2003, she was a wonder teacher and a wonderful person. One of the most sweetest and most caring person I`ve ever met. May her soul rest in peace.
