  In Memoriam

Chris and I shared a back yard fence, so I saw him quite often and we talked a lot. We didn`t really hang out together much, he had his friends and I had mine. I found out that he had passed away at our 20 year reunion and was shocked and saddened.

Chris and I were very close friends, we were really like best girlfriends. He was friends with Gary Reed who I ended up marrying (class of 71) and he came to live with us in the early 80`s. He would always bring me a gift when he came to visit, even if if it was just a flower he picked from the neighbors. He would also bring any new beau by to get my approval. When he first became sick, Gary and I took over his pool route to help him out. He was a big part of my life for a long time....

I remember hunting for insects around Irvine Lake for Biology class. Chris would drive his little Volvo and we would go off in the boonies looking for the most rare insects. Godspeed Chris.

Oh My Gosh, I just stumbled on the La Quinta Web Site because I had always ben disgusted by reunion web sights that charge you a lot of ~$~Money~$~ to contact your old school friends. Anyway I was also in the class of 1971 & knew Chris from 5th grade on. We lived at opposite ends of the street & one street apart. We were together often. We were in Boy Scouts for a number of years together. I developed friendship with his dad & mom (when we weren't in trouble riding my motorcycle to Hunting Beach Mall @ 14 years old ! ) I knew both of his older brothers & still talk to Kime his oldest every few months. His parents had both passed away after I had learned from his dad quite a while ago that Chris had died of an aids virus. In High school we didn't have to many classes together but we still were good friends. Chris, always a goof off & it's ben Soooooo long since I have seen him I've forgotten all the trouble he got us in (and homework never finished cause we out late up to something

Chris and I went through school from the fourth grade until graduation. We lived only a block from each other! He had a great sense of humor and was a great guy. On the day we graduated, as we left the gym, we spotted each other, we were happy to have achieved success! We hugged and said how lucky we were to have gone all the way through school together. I always admired Chris for his friendship which he gave to me throughout the years in which we were growing up. How he would tell me I should get contact lenses and let my hair grow long!! We joked alot and enjoyed life. When I learned that Chris had contracted the AIDS virus, I sought him out once again. The last time I visited with him was four months before his death. He had many regrets, and wish he could change his life, he knew he didnt have much time left. At this rough time in his life, as we sat next to each other, we could share the memories of our childhood. I am so happy to have known Chris, I was heart broken when I reci
