Dennis Haynes
September 12, 1954 - January 15, 2017

Class Year:
1972

Cause of death:
Heart Attack

Accomplishments:
Baseball and sports were undoubtedly one of Dennis` most beloved pastimes. Although his love of sports went beyond Little League— it all started there. Dennis played ball from the moment he could catch, first through Little League, then at La Quinta High where he was the Varsity Shortstop on the Baseball team. He went on to continue playing at Santa Ana College. Although he never made a professional career out of playing the sport, he did support it in any way he could. At the time of his death, he was an official and long-standing OCBOA & OCFOA member. Dennis was in Palm Springs scheduled to work the MSBL Desert Classic, when he fell ill. He was a great man to work with on and off of the field and truly cared about the children playing and the love of the game.

  In Memoriam

Dennis had a great talent for the game of baseball. I played the game with him in my youth. We we`re on the same team, the Pirates in Bolsa Little League starting back in 1964. We played together again on the Senators in Senior League. Dennis was a killer marble player too, he won hundreds of marbles from me back in the day. RIP Buddy,, I want my marbles back!!
