In Memoriam

Marlene always lived life to its fullest when I knew her. She had a zest for fun and friendship. I will always keep her in my memory as a light in the darkness because of her smile. We shared a lot in a few short years and then our lives parted. Memories will not part. Eileen Marie Balzano Coop, I loved your sister like a sister. I can`t imagine your lose. Prayers always to your family.

My most vivid memory was the birthday Marlene's mother gave her, what I thought was the ácoolestá jacket. I don't remember what was embroidered on the back, but it was impressive to me. Our birthdays were close, mine March 28, hers March 30 ... I think about her still at this time! Your contact also welcome! God's blessings to her family & children. Darlene (Powell) Stinson

This is so sad! Most of my memories of Marlene are from our years at Post. We walked to school together. When she was absent from school, I took her homework home to her. Funny some of the things that we remember. As we grew up, we lost touch. But had a great friendship for awhile.

I grew up with Marleen, she lived in the back of our housing track and we would walk to school together, meeting on the corner. Sometimes Renee Ramos would join us, or Renee Palmer. We had allot of fun. We have all known each other (Renee R & Renee P & Helen R, since we were 5years old. Please lets keep in touch and not fall short of each other. Sometimes its all you have left.

I knew Marlene since childhood. We were the first families in a new neighborhood (only 2 houses away)but lost touch since I graduated in '74. We had about 13,14 years of fun as kids and teens and I'm sad to hear this. I'd like to know how the rest of the family is doing. Marlene, I'll see you later in our final neighborhood.

Marlene was a real kick in the pants. I remember her as always laughing, and always getting in trouble in class because she couldn't stop laughing. (Must have been something in the air out by the handball courts where we hung out.)

Marlene and I went to school together since Post Elementary. We got in trouble together in 5th grade for passing a note about our teacher Mrs. Bathe. We were sent to the office and instead I ran home. My dad was home from work that day and I told him what happened before that dreaded phone call. When the Principle called and offered me 3 swats or 3 days suspension, my dad told him he was the one who did the disciplining in this family and I never got either. Marlene however got the swats. She was so mad at me about that.
