  In Memoriam

I am so saddened to hear about Les. I will always remember the fun I used to have with Leslie and Dennis in drama class. They used to always tease me about making an Annie doll (I guess because I was so short!) I ran into Les several years later when I was working at a cafe in Los Angeles and He was working as an Artist and activist. I didn't recognize him at first, but it was sure nice to see him again. I will always have fond memories of Les.

Leslie was my brother. I was only 8 when he graduated from LQ, where I graduated from ten years later. I was 21 when he died and I feel cheated that I didn't get to know him in some of the was his friends did.

Les was the first love of my life and has always held a special place in my heart. We spent many a day during high school at the beach, and many night dancing till we dropped. He was one of the most genuine and caring people I ever met and I have always felt blessed that he was part of my life.

Les and I were in Drama together. He wasn't very demonstrative, but he was hilarious! He had such a great sense of humor, and lost the braces and became a very handsome, successful artist. I miss you, Les.

Les played a patient in áOne Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nestá and I played a hooker. The role called for me to kiss him in one scene, and I don't think he had ever kissed a girl before (he was a sophmore a the time.) After the first dress rehearsal, he brought me flowers every night throughout the entire run. Nice kid--and a mouth full of braces!
