  In Memoriam

I sure did love that man! He was so wonderful to me. I could talk to him about anything at any time. He was always there for me. He also protected and looked out for me, and I was so glad he was there when I needed him. Never have I come across an older man who cared as much for me before or since. He used to hate it when I corrected his math! I remember my girlfriends used to say áooooh nooooá in a high pitched voice, imitating Mr. Bill. Jeff used to try to do it too, and it was hilarious. I still have a pictuBut he was a great coach and a good person. I am so sorry his daughter didn't have a chance to know him.

Big Rig was the coolest teacher in school bar none. He'd let me hide in his class when I was ditching because 1. I was Lou Utu's little brother and 2. because he figured if I was sitting there (ogling the hot upper class females that always seemed to be hanging around) I wasn't out in the field getting stoned. He'd warn áyou know your dad's going to kick your ass when he finds out?á I'd look at him like áyeah, and?á and he'd laugh and mutter áSamoansá like we were from another planet or something. The man defined cool in high school for me.

Riggins was a guy you could love and hate. His coaching style was often hard to swallow. But I do remember some funny stories - he always had a tail to make you laugh. I remember his Jaguar - the one that was stolen at the drive-in movie when he went to get popcorn. We cried we laughed so hard when he related that story - always something with him. God bless you - where ever you are!

Mr. Riggins, was my math teacher and my PE coach. Man was he a hard ass, I was in Co-Ed PE and he loved to make the girls do the same as the boys, guess that is why I grew up so tough. He was so much fun in math, always making me laugh. He passed away when I was still in school and what a tragedy. Keep smiling Mr. Riggins you have made me one tough lady, thanks. Class of 1985
